Cleaning your makeup brushes to me is one of those tasks you know you have to do but keep putting off in your head, but once you do it you realise its so quick and easy, the end result is always worth it. I'm going to show you what I do to clean my makeup brushes and how simple it really is.

Before and After cleaning

I used a makeup brush cleaning mat. these are super helpful when is comes to cleaning your brushes and are SOO cheap! I bought mine from Primark for about £1 (gotta love primark) but there are also really cheap ones you can buy on amazon which I will link below. All you do is put a drop of shampoo (you can use actual makeup brush cleaner if you have it but I don't and to save money I just use a mild shampoo) I used some of the head and shoulders shampoo but you can really use any. Wet your brush and using circular motions run it along the makeup cleaning mat until the water runs clear. Thats it - just repeat for any brushes you need cleaned!

I dry my brushes by hanging them upside down just using what we use to try clothes on and attach the brushes using either elastic bands or hair bands. I do this to make sure that they dry in their correct shape instead of leaving them on a towel to dry where they may dry slightly flat and out of shape.

Thank you for reading my new post! I loved how well my brushes cleaned up and they look pretty much as good as new, its definitely worth doing and it really takes no time at all although I left mine for about 24 hours to dry.
